Introduction
Thoracotomy Simulator with mounted anatomical lung.
Open thoracic surgery remains a critical skill in thoracic surgical practice, despite the increasing adoption of VATS.
Training in open thoracic surgery is essential for ensuring surgeons are well-prepared to handle complex cases and unexpected complications where open surgery may be necessary.
Details
The thoracotomy simulator is a standalone system designed for open thoracic surgery training. It features built-in LED lighting, powered via a USB-C cable, ensuring optimal visibility during practice.
Both lung models are compatible with the simulator, allowing versatile training options:
- Flat Lung. Is ideal for practicing basic skills and techniques such as manipulation, suturing, wedge resection by endo-cutter, lymph node dissection and structure isolation by harmonic shears.
- Anatomical Model. Provides a realistic anatomical model for advanced surgical training including anatomical segmental resections, control of the main pulmonary artery and sleeve resection with bronchial end-to-end anastomosis.
